I like to draw the body, paint the skin, work on color. The body as subject, for what it expresses and what we feel when we see it. It is a moving architecture and the drawing of this form is a starting point in my painting. With color comes another emotion, that produced by a colored composition regardless of what it represents. After having worked a lot on representations of the skin in painting under very diverse influences (some impressionists, Schiele, Kupka and especially Freud), I gradually free myself from the temptation of verisimilitude.
I focus on the double emotion produced by the subject and the color, the resulting tension of this. I paint to produce that emotion.
Materials & Techniques: Oil on Wood Panel
