Navid Bazargan
I was born in 1963 in Tehran-Iran. Since my childhood, I have always been fascinated by colors and lines and cherished the variety of forms and shades in nature. The love of painting was cultivated in me during high school, I started to explore painting in different styles. choosing Persian literature as my formal field of study in university did not make me give up on painting. I got my PhD. in Persian Language and literature in1997. During those years I delved even more in the field of art and attended different art classes and was inspired by a variety of mentors with different styles in painting. I also participated in many group exhibitions and held several solo exhibitions in Iran and abroad and received various awards in this field.
Watercolour and acrylics are the mediums that attracted me the most. It helps me to express the vibrant spirit and atmosphere of the landscapes.
Coming to the US in 2013 as a visiting scholar of California State University of Northridge, I pursued my studies along with the Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies Program. In September 2015 I was invited to the Roshan Institute for Persian Studies * in Maryland University as a Visiting assistant professor in Persian studies. I am still dedicated to my passion of painting every day alongside my career in teaching Persian Literature.
